ivtv will be part of the upcoming 2.6.22 kernel and is fully v4l2
compliant. But this does not mean that apps like tvtime or xawtv are
supported since ivtv is not a framegrabber but an mpeg encoder. So you
will need to use applications that support MPEG streams like MythTV.
The ivtv-specific API has been completely replaced with a proper v4l2 API
in 2.6.22 (except for one ioctl for which there was no easy replacement
possible).
But again, xawtv and friends will never work, it's simply the wrong tool
for this hardware.
