Please help! I've been referring to MythTVology website. Here is my spec: PIII system running FC6. Everything was up to date before I started installing. Added a PVR 350 card. Followed the tutorial to the rule and got Mythtv to show television for about 5 minutes. I started fiddling with the keyboard and started to make it record programs accidentally. The mythbackend locked up for some reason, so I started mythbackend back up. By the mythbackend output verbiage, i saw that it was trying to record after it had been started again. I logged back in to mythfrontend to watch TV, but got the message that the TV tuner was in use because a program was being recorded. I two clips and deleted them. But, still not able to watch TV. Same message. Using advice from a forum, I unloaded/reloaded the ivtv drivers as follows:
yum remove ivtv-firmware yum remove ivtv-kmdl-$KVER I then reinstalled them as follows: yum -y install ivtv-firmware yum -y install ivtv-kmdl-$KVER then attempted to run these programs to detect the card: /sbin/depmod -a /sbin/modprobe ivtv but when I run ll /dev/video? I get a discouraging message: [EMAIL PROTECTED] jamburn]# ll /dev/video? ls: /dev/video?: No such file or directory I've since rebooted several times to let the startup scripts load things in order, but /dev/video0 still doesn't exist. Next, I captured some error data from the /var/log/messages using the script on mythtvology. here it is: Jun 5 22:38:03 fedora kernel: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ===== =============== Jun 5 22:38:03 fedora kernel: ivtv: version 0.10.3 (tagged release) loading Jun 5 22:38:03 fedora kernel: ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.20-1.2952.fc6 SMP mod_u nload 686 4KSTACKS Jun 5 22:38:03 fedora kernel: ivtv: In case of problems please include the deb ug info between Jun 5 22:38:03 fedora kernel: ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV line s, along with Jun 5 22:38:03 fedora kernel: ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv- users mailinglist.
