Hi Peter, Sorry for not answering sooner, but I've not been monitoring the ivtv lists recently.
Just in case you are unaware, the cs53l32a module is only used to set the sound sample rate to the correct speed and even without it you should get good video, but distorted sound. The rest of the install for ivtv should be the same as for any ivtv capture card. I've not updated my system for some time and so am not running a current kernel with my AVC-2410 (the version of your card which has a tuner). If you are prepared to try a different distro with a stock kernel and still have problems I'll install a current distro on a spare disk and make sure that the current version of ivtv still works OK with the Adaptec cards and also have a current dmesg output to compare with yours.
