I am running a stock kernel 2.6.17-5mdv on Mandriva 2007 with a 64 bit
box. I am trying to get a PVR-350 working and am having issues. I
haven’t received replies on previous posts here so I want to know one key
thing…will the PVR-350 work on a 64 bit box for starters and if so can I
make it work with a 2.6.17 kernel? This kernel seems to be discouraged on
the ivtv site. I tried to update to 18 and 20, but had no success because
of other software issues. If I can I’d like to stay with 17. If anyone
else has a brief how-to for Mandriva 2007 and this card, I would sure
appreciate it. I’ve basically used the generic how to and some old
documentation. Here’s the output of dmesg with my trials to date…

Also note that I can do

cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg

but when I try to use mplayer to review the file I get

[root[at]power utils]# cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg

[root[at]power utils]# /usr/bin/mplayer test.mpg

Please give me some direction if you can. I’d really like to know if it
is possible to make this card work on this box.

Thx!!
