Previously, I started a thread labeled "Knoppmyth R5F27 PVR350 Closed
Captions Recording Incorrectrly"
I am using a Hauppauge PVR 350s card on a Knoppmyth R5F27 for recording and for
viewing on my TV.
Now the tuner is not decoding closed captions correctly, this is either from
viewing live TV or from a recording using the version of Knoppmyth R5F27. If I
play black from a previously recording which used Knoppmyth R5F1 the closed
captions are fine. Viewing live TV from the R5F1 version were working properly
too. (With R5F27 it appears to skip letters or spaces. There are no strange
characters displayed.)
It appears that it is the same kernel level between the two versions of R5F1
and R5F27 but the versions of ivtv are different.
I am I correct in thinking I can back level the ivtv driver?
If so, is there a website to instruct me on the procedure?
I am sure it is not as simple as just coping the ivtv from R5F1 to the ivtv in
R5F27.
Any information will be appreciated.
The information I retrieved on the two version is below.
