Because of the changes made to the R5F27 kernel modules, this is at best an impractical task. You can, however, build and install the latest v4l-dvb (with a patch) on the 2.6.18 kernel used by KnoppMyth. This has cleared up closed captions on my PVR-150. Unfortunately, and this likely affects you, it hasn't completely solved the problem on my PVR-350 (it's better but still losing characters). Of note is that it doesn't matter if the PVR-350's decoder is in operation or not.
