I use both and I have seen this happen in the past and deleting the
cards on the MythTV side fixed it every time. I am now using a 2.6.22
kernel but I switched to the v4l drivers (from http://www.linuxtv.org)
to combat a DMA problem. The v4l drivers do not have this problem with
recent SVN versions of myth. I am now using MythTV 0.21 svn rev 14939.
