Hi All,

I've been trying to chase down what appears to be a problem with mythtv
talking to ivtv on CentOS 5.1 x86 (myth frontend and backend on the same
box).

The problem is a black screen when I want to watch live tv. The screen is
black for about 45 seconds then it kicks back out to the mythfrontend.

I looked at the backend logs and I see:

2008-01-01 22:30:31.743 MPEGRec(/dev/video0) Warning: Error getting codec
params using old IVTV ioctl
                        eno: Invalid argument (22)
2008-01-01 22:30:31.744 MPEGRec(/dev/video0) Error: Could not set MPEG
controls
                        eno: Invalid argument (22)

The frontend logs shows messages supporting problems waiting for the
recorder.

It appears I have a working ivtv setup since I am able to run mplayer on
/dev/video0 and I am able to see live tv.

This is what I have installed on my CentOS box running kernel
2.6.18-53.1.4.el5

ivtv-0.10.6-131.el5
ivtv_xdriver-1.0.0-9.el5
ivtv-firmware-20070217-15.1
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.18-53.1.4.el5-0.10.6-131.el5 !!
perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-8.0.el5

I noticed on atrpms that there is apparently separate ivtv-kmdl rpms
labelled 'centos' for the 2.6.18-53.1.4 kernel and I'm wondering if I've
installed one that doesn't work with mythtv.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'd be really nice to be able to stick
with RPM's, but I'm anxious to get this working anyway I can.
