Hi,

Very often i have no sound when using my PVR-150 tv-card, sometimes i
do. The root casus seems to be the way the cx25840 module recognizes the
cards possibilities. Normally it is wrong, but i can correct it by
modprobing the module again (and sometimes being lucky - there is no
method in this):

My question is how to solve this so the card is recognized properly.

Information about the error (what i can diagnose):

When i run: "v4l2-dbg --log-status | grep cx25840" and sound works i get:
   cx25840 2-0044: Video signal: present

Further details:

Running on Mandriva 2008.0 using the ivtv 1.0.0 driver in the kernel
(2.6.22.9-desktop-1mdv).
Because the ivtv programs where not available i grabbed them from source
and installed the 1.0.3 version.
Living in the Netherlands, so PAL-N should be the proper standard.

The command "dmesg | grep ivtv" gives (this was today - when it was not
workin at the start):
