Hello,

I have a Compro U300 USB TV tuner
(http://www.techbuy.com.au/p/71730/TV_TUNERS/Compro/COVMU300.asp) which this
thread (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/800534.html)
on whirlpool indicates is supported in the latest ivtv packages. However I
can't seem to get it to be recognised.

I am using CentOS 5.1 with kernel version:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] lirc_imon]# uname -r
2.6.18-53.1.4.el5

I have the following packages installed from atrpms:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] lirc_imon]$ rpm -qa | grep ivtv
ivtv-firmware-20070217-15.1
ivtv_xdriver-1.0.0-9.el5
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.18-53.1.4.el5-0.10.6-131.el5

and have downloaded:
/lib/firmware/dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10.fw

dmesg shows me:

dib0700: loaded with support for 5 different device-types
dvb-usb: found a 'Compro Videomate U500' in warm state.
dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
DVB: registering new adapter (Compro Videomate U500)
DVB: registering frontend 0 (DiBcom 7000PC)...
MT2060: successfully identified (IF1 = 1220)
input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /class/input/input6
dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 150 msecs.
dvb-usb: Compro Videomate U500 successfully initialized and connected.
usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_dib0700

so it all looks good, so far.

But following
(http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php?SID&expandables=closed&ivtv=open&pvr350out=open#capture),
when I run modprobe ivtv, I only get:

Linux video capture interface: v2.00
ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
ivtv: version 0.10.6 (tagged release) loading
ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.18-53.1.4.el5 SMP mod_unload 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS
gcc-4.1
ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between
ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with
ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.
ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ====================

I thought there was meant to be information on the device within that section.
From the aforementioned HOWTO, I can't see /dev/video either. Although this
latter may be because CentOS has udev enabled. What should I be looking for if
that is the case?

Is there something I am missing?

Cheers,
David
