I am using 0.10.6, and closed captions work perfectly.

I *think* that mpeg-ts has some specs for embedding (a) subtitles stream(s).
ivtv recordings are mpeg-ps, though.

That is why I save the closed captions before I cut out the commercials from 
the video and from the srt file :P
