I guess you are catpuring hi-def If you would like to tweak the setting try tweaking these parameters. /usr/local/bin/v4l2-ctl -L Will show you what they are currently set to and the defaults. /usr/local/bin/v4l2-ctl --set-ctrl=video_bitrate=2000000 /usr/local/bin/v4l2-ctl --set-ctrl=video_peak_bitrate=3000000 The above settings at 720x480 uses about 1.2 gigs an hour for me with Acceptable quality.
