Yes, they do apply. And to any other ivtv-based card for that matter.
They setup the aspect ratio of the captured image as stored inside the
MPEG stream. This is in practice always 4x3, so it is unlikely that you
will ever need to change it. Only for an anamorphic input you might
want to change it, but that is very unusual.
