Right, modinfo is a command, usually in the /sbin directory and cx18 is 
the argument.
If you read the man page for modinfo, you'll se it will list all the 
parameter/options a module understands.

edit grub.conf or lilo.conf
read the manpage for which ever one matches you current bootloader.

It's the line that starts "kernel" in grub.conf
For lilo find the "append = string" option in the man page

Gotta love it when someone asking for free help wants to dictate how the 
messages are formatted.
You should be thankful he's trying to help you.

I've been on different linux lists, for X11 development to kernel 
development over the last 11+ years and never saw anyone with you 
attitude get much help.

I suspect Andy has a reason for quoting the information he does.
