I think it did happen just after the 350 had finished recording the
simpsons and IIRC I was about 5 minutes behind real time... it would
have been starting to record the show after that though.

Assuming heat is the issue, would one of those internal PCI slot fans do
the trick you think?  Or with 3 cards in the box are more drastic
measures needed?  The system is in a "HDPC" case
(http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=16626&vpn=LC17B&manufacture=Silverstone%20Technology)
and in a TV stand with no back.
