According to the wiki, that is the case.

Distribution packaging problem by Mandriva maybe? Or maybe Mandriva
found a way to backport the ivtv 1.2 version back to 2.6.24 and provided
that.

That's because the ivtv v1.1 source package doesn't contain the ivtv and
ivtvfb driver modules, just utilities. v1.1 drivers should come with a
2.6.24 kernel.

Look carefully at the 2008-05-24 announcement about 1.1.0 on the wiki:

I dunno. Have you contacted Mandriva about the version discrepancy or
looked at the Mandriva kernel source package to see what patches they
are applying to the vanilla kernel? The ivtv driver Maintainer, Hans
Verkuil, announced that 2.6.24 kernels should use ivtv v1.1.0 drivers,
but the version string in their kernel says ivtv v1.2.0. Maybe they
just pulled some patchset from the v4l-dvb or kernel repository that
happened to have an update to the version string.

Anyway, you're working under the hypothesis that some other problem is
caused by the version discrepancy right? I look at that previous
response of yours.

Andy
