So better quality video is harmful in this context. lol-that sucks!

v4l2-ctl -c stream_type=1 didn't seem to improve things.

2. You'll have to wait until I have a fix that either allows users to set the 
transfer buffers sizes smaller via a module parameter or somehow coaxes the 
CX23418 firmware to send a buffer once per frame. 

Wait? just kidding. Thanks for your hard work on this. I have added a note on 
the Prebuffering pause wiki page. Should we add an issue on the Hauppauge 
HVR-1600 page?

Looking at the dmesg log I sent before, do I need a newer firmware? I'm using 
whatever came with Mythbuntu 8.10.
