There are no problems when capturing from >the PVR-250. It is not a MythTV issue as it occurs when I just cat from >the appropriate /dev/videoX device file. There are no messages on the >console or in /var/log/messages. All of a sudden the machine reboots and >I'm looking at the BIOS startup screen. The problem has persisted >through kernel updates. It started not long after I installed a new ?motherboard and processor due to the old one dying. So, I'm thinking >chip issue or something like that. >Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. >Ken Not sure what you replaced, but one thing I would look into is perhaps a newer/more powerful power supply. I know, the PSU is so reduced in importance, and removed from the awareness of many, but I've had weird issues happen when I had a flaky PSU, such as PVR/DVB cards wouldn't initialize properly, or wouldn't load their firmware properly. I also had an issue where some bad caps on a video card would cause sporadic reboots, and issues. When I replaced the video card, things on that box went back to normal. (2 different boxes. First was a linux box, 2nd was a Winblows box, but both were AMD 64 X2 boxes) _______________________________________________ ivtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-users
