Hi Dale, I've never seen the red screen, although occasionally I'll get a few frames that look noisy on analog recordings, particularly on us-cable channel 3. I've got two HVR-1600's in my backend. Both analog inputs are connected to a 4 way splitter and the first card's digital input is connected to the same splitter. The last output from the splitter is going to the TV. The splitter's input is from an 8 way splitter in my attic, which is fed by an in-line amp. Before the amp is a 2 way splitter for the cable modem. The only problem I've got is that the scanning tools and myth can't find two out of 10 clear QAM channels that our HDTVs can tune.
