Yeah, no dots... also no interesting signals in strace:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] run]$ cat lircd.pid
10710
[EMAIL PROTECTED] run]$ strace -p 10710
Process 10710 attached - interrupt to quit
select(5, [4], NULL, NULL, NULL

I'm going to try recompiling LIRCD. I remember there were some weird
options to get it to work with the hauppauge card on gentoo, maybe I got
them wrong.
