hello, i try to install a PVR 350 TV card on my system, and i've already read most of ivtv.sourceforge.net and its realm.
I'm running kernel 2.6.9 on a amd64 (x64_86) machine, and i got ivtv compiled and installed quite well. anyway, when i try to load the ivtv module, i get: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== [...] ivtv: Autodetected WinTV PVR 350 card ivtv: Found an iTVC15 based chip [...] msp34xx: ivtv version msp34xx: init: chip=MSP3418W-B3, has NICAM support, simple (D) mode, simpler (G) no-thread mode msp34xx: $Id$ compiled on: Jan 2 2005 16:21:47 ivtv: i2c attach [client=MSP3418W-B3,ok] ivtv: i2c client addr: 0x50 not found! ivtv: Error -19 reading Hauppauge eeprom. ivtv: Possible causes: the tveeprom module was not loaded, or ivtv: the eeprom kernel module was loaded before the tveeprom module. Unable to open '/lib/modules/ivtv-fw-enc.bin'. ivtv: failed loading encoder firmware ivtv: Error loading firmware -3! ivtv: Error -3 initializing firmware. ivtv: Error -12 on initialization ivtv-iTVC15_16_mpg2_encoder_card: probe of 0000:00:07.0 failed with error -12 ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ==================== and yes, i read that the firmware by hauppauge is still needed, and that ivtvfwextract.pl exists in utils/ to extract the firmware out of a windows exe file. I've found pvr48xxx.EXE on the Hauppauge cd, but the perl-script fails on this file: # ./ivtvfwextract.pl pvr48xxx.EXE ./ivtvfwextract.pl: Can't open /tmp/ivtvex.19725/hcwpvrp2.sys: No such file or directory i've also tried this in a i386 chroot, with same error. might the 64bit based system be a problem? or any suggestions? bye jonas ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek.
