ivtv comes with an updated version of tveeprom. I suspect that this
newer version is not playing nicely with bttv.

I'd try removing the ivtv drivers (should be easy if you installed
from rpm, or delete the .ko files if you installed from source), and
ivtv lines from modules.conf, then try to get the bttv card working on
its own first.
