It might if you add any other cards. Basically, the newer version of
the tveeprom (provided with ivtv) is needed to support many newer
cards. You are lucky and the old (kernel supplied version) of tveeprom
works with your card.

If you add another ivtv card you will probably have problems.

It might be worth posting this to the ivtv-dev list, someone there may
want to modify the tveeprom to play nicer with other cards.
