Gilles Scokart commented on IVY-580:
------------------------------------

I just want to be sure to understand.

Are you saying that the ivy.xml files into a repository should not contain the
organization and module info because this info is already present in the path
used to reach this ivy.xml file?

The problem is that you can actually use ivy.xml in a lot of different context,
in repository using different layout. Personally I preffer to have the same
ivy.xml useable in all those different context. So, I would preffer to keep it.

Also, concerning the schema, I think ivy support it. If the xsd is used in the
file that you publish, it should be kept in the repository. Please tell us if
it is not the case.

> When Ivy is searching for a module in ivyrep, it already knows about the
> organization and module of a given file. It seems redundant to add them in
> the ivy.xml file. If they were optional attributes, it would be easier to add
> new modules.
> OTOH, adding a DTD/XML Schema would make it easier to browse than the docs.
