Thanks, Michael for the answer. I'll raise my query regarding this to
the XML Schema WG forum, and would try to get clarification from them.

The patch I submitted implements 0-n assertions (as, you wrote below),
but it recognizes either assertions, or the other facets, but not
both.

But, Khaled could review my patch in it's current state and give me
comments if any and I'll improve the code accordingly; or the Xerces
team can make corrections if you like.

But surely after getting necessary clarifications, I'll provide the
fix in next round of code submission.
