I wanted to check on the current status of XML 1.0 Fifth edition name rules in Xerces2 for Java. (The retcon where the W3C imported the XML 1.1 name rules and declared they had always meant something completely different than and incompatible with the BNF grammar in the first through fourth editions.)
I don't see anything about this in Jira or the release notes, and in my simple test it looks like these changes are not implemented, at least not in the DTDConfiguration.
