As you may know, the biggest scalability issue with jabberd 2 today is SM process. It's single threaded and might quickly become a bottleneck.
I merged Mark Doliner SM clustering patches to branch https://svn.xiaoka.com/svn/jabberd2/branches/clustering/ It allows several instances of sm process to handle one domain, distributing the load If you experience high SM load, you might want to try it.
