Hi,

jabberd2 currently uses udns as a DNS stub resolver. Udns has some
problems and it is not maintained any more. The dependency to udns also
prevents the Debian package of jabberd2 to move to testing, because
Debian is reluctant to include udns. In the respective bug report [0]
the author of udns himself states that he is not interested any more in
the project.

Are there chances that udns gets replaced by something else in
jabberd2? Something that is actively maintained and used by other
projects as well? I've looked around a bit and there are some
alternatives, like lwres or ldns, but I'm not sure how well they fit
with jabberd2's asynchronous IO model.

Cheers,
harry
