I always want the help :-). And I want to release BeanUtils and
Collections as well (because Digester depends on them), so we can start
using the commons versions in Struts and Tomcat.
What we haven't done yet is come up with a release procedure for commons
packages. Based on the way that releases are handled in most of the other
Jakarta projects, that involves something like this:
- Propose a particular set of code to be a release on the mailling list,
and get votes from the committers
- Add a CVS tag marking the files that go into the release
- Prepare binary and source distribution files
- Upload them to the server
- Update links on the web pages
- Announce the package availability (to ANNOUNCEMENTS, GENERAL, and
JAKARTA-COMMONS lists at a minimum)
I will have some time to formalize this process next week (as we agreed a
while back that I would do), but this week my time will be focused on
Tomcat.
