Mine is close to the wisp programmer: the PC program is an extension
of wisp.py

I do.

frame is fixed length of four bytes

This address field could enable PIC-to-PIC communication: I did not
enable that.

On top of this: my protocol works with a bootloader too.
So you can actuallly reprogram a node from the PC. Yes, you can
enumerate as well.
You can also program all nodes at once.

Also, the bus wire (6-wire telephone cable) can be reversed without
damage and the connectors and crimp device can be bought in the
supermarket. The bus does power too.

I can port the project to JALV2, but this will take time. The blog
has to be up and running before I do it, since there is a massive
amount of documentation, photos, schematics, hardware, pyhon
libraries and applications. There is also a C API for on the PC.

You will need special hardware as well, for instance a PIC16F628
driven translator between bus signals an serial data. I made an SMD
USB translator board as well, but I can't remember if I got it working.

Seb, you could help me a lot to get this on the web and into jallib.
I can ship you some working hardware so you can help developing and
documenting.
