In other words there is no distiction between any of the suffixes a..z. So until version 2.5 arrives it won't be of much help. I doubt if anybody currently uses jal_version, so we might ask Kyle to change his numbering system, for example make it: 10000 * major + 100 minor + sub (sub being a number in stead of a letter of course). BTW: Your suggestions for using the version number (in another message) could be useful, didn't think of these.
