Yes the bitfields are the same, see also

However, you might have to check if the statemachine behaviour is exactly 
the same,
for I2C there are small differences.

Thanks for bringing the i2c stuff to my attention.

I guess in retrospect, we should have had an MSSP hardware alias file,
used by both SPI and I2C ?  And maybe MicroWire if anyone wants to do
that also.

Is it really as simple as just the names?  I wasn't sure if all of the
devices had the exact same bit-field layout in the registers.
