Joep, I do not disagree with your method, all documentation is essential. > I don't know what you mean with 'same direction as bert'. The document > I am working on is about jallib. I don't want any separation and I > have no intention to publish it as a book. I do want (at least for > now) to keep control over the document. I don't want unfinished copies > floating around, nor do I want different branches.
> No, so I suggest when the startersguide is finished, we delete the old > samples and rename the new ones to the old name ;) This will break tutorials within the tutorial book, so maybe you can put all of your samples into a seperate folder. The only solution would be to agree to put it all into one book somehow. Have you looked over the tutorial book? Can you please give some feedback? Creating this book does create a "different branch" doesn't it? Please put some more thought into putting it all into one book. As you can see, the website, dita, etc, is working good. It already has users/ readers and is already being advertised. It also has at least 2 contributors (seb and myself), Sunish has also had some interest. Many others have given suggestions. As you said, it is hard for just one person to write a book. Please try to find a good solution that we can all agree on. I have given my suggestions. Do you not agree that the tutorial book takes users by the hand in the "getting started" section? We are quite willing to take suggestions or get good help by someone such as yourself. Wayne, you have given some great feedback towards the tutorial book, I wish you could write some tutorials about your libraries/samples.
