Yes, I could play mp3's a long time ago very clear sound! It uses
sta015 + a DAC chip. sta015 is an older device but I like the 28pin
sop package. Volume control works perfect, The base & trebble boost
function doesn't work great.

I was able to connect both a hard disk and an sd card to the same PIC,
to bad pointers are not available. I can only use one storage device
at a time.

Although this mp3 decoder works good, I am going to try vs1053. I
bought one of these proto boards:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/VS1053-MP3-Decoder-Board-MIC-vs1003b_W0QQitemZ300386799555QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45f072cfc3

It also has support for .WMA .FLA, and others. It also comes with full
file type licensing. It has recording ability as well. I am just
afraid of the tqpf package.

That lcd looks like it is about 1".

I liked some other LCD someone suggested recently with touch screen
for $30, I can't find the link right now. I have seen the same screen
on IPHONE Clone (perfect size for a portable mp3 player). I like these
extreemly flat LCDs.

I am also interested in adding a radio to my circuit, I have seen some
of you talk about radio devices? is there any sample?

Matt.
