Indeed a "blink-led" compiles with exact same pragma. So it's not the
extended Instructions enabled

The 18F4550 version compiles to about 28K and the real HW works
perfectly nice. ( extended Instructions enabled)

I'll have to gradually add modules in to find where the p-code to
assembler is failing by dereferencing a null point probably.

I got the 18F67J50 soldered up on one of wouter's adaptors.
Method:
3mm chisel tip $10 / £7 earthered soldering iron (interchangeable
tips),
1) tinned pads with lead free solder,
2) wicked off excess on a few
3) gently press down chip pins with clean dry iron.

 I do have a very basic power controller on iron.

pickit2 clone any day now from China.
