I haven't read an announcement either. I downloaded it and compiled the samples, of which 37 give errors and warnings (other than with the previous beta)! So 2.4o isn't ready for release.
1 March was just a suggestion. When there won't be a stable compiler 2.4o soon we don't have to wait and stick to 2.4n. When Kyle expects to have a stable 2.4o very soon we could wait a little.
