Thanks Rob, it's always good to correct these things, it's mostly that
I don't have the time to go through closely.
I don't know how you actually built your samples, but it looks like you
took an existing sample and modified it, and I suppose you also tested
these samples. I would think doing it 'right' the first time would take
hardly any additional time.
I'm actually supprised I didn't hear "why not use a board file". Of
course the answer is that I generate my own samples. I suppse I find
my method better, however I never really understood your method of
generating samples. I found the doc difficult to follow. A more step
by step approch or an example in the doc may be good for others.
Anyways, I'm stuck on my method now.
The samples we are talking about now are not mine.
Anyway, everybody has all the rights to work as he prefers most. Nothing
wrong with that as long as the result is OK (meets our goals, is JSG
compliant, etc.).
I myself use different methods to build samples: the basic blink samples
and most of my LCD samples with Rexx scripts, some with test and board
files, most with copy/modify, and some from scratch.
w.r.t. the name of the author:
With the copy/modify method I think it is fair to keep the name of the
original author in the source one way or another. But when there are
significantly more changes or additions than original code then I think
it is acceptable to use your own name as (only or primary) author.
Regards, Rob.
