Hi,

SVN learns that print_sword_fp_dec() is added by Watty about a year
ago. IMHO this procedure does not belong in print.jal. (One could
argue it should, but then there should be similar functions for all
supported variables). As far as I am concerned, the procedure should
be removed.

Refactoring of format.jal is long overdue. As far as I remember the
interface (API) is pretty good, but there are a few quirks in the
implementation. One I recall is that the desired nr of chars is not
always correct processed. An other thing is that overflow (that is:
the number does not fit in the designated place) does generate
garbage. Although it can be argued that this garbage is still
informative to the developer, IMHO it is better to have a clear
overflow-indicator, like printing '#' on all digits.
I once did a rewrite on request (don't recall who), but never got
feedback on the result and removed it from svn. Should be there
somewhere ;)

It would be ideal if we had compact, high-performce JAL code that
handels conversion to decimal and that this core can be used for fixed
point and integers. Probably will take quite some effort to create
though...
