Hi guys, Seb, My thoughts (based on your info, my previous messages and info from Matt)
- You, Rob and Matt all have a personal methode to generate samples and I guess it is unlikely there will be one method to suit all needs. - The jallib sample generation method is hardly used any more now Albert seems to be gone and I have little time. - It is easy to regenerate samples with the jallib method to keep them updated and expand for new samples/devices. However, functionality is limited to 2 code blocks. - AFAIK there is no easy method to detect/remove previous generated samples that are not regenerated. This gives a risk of outdated (still compilable though) samples. > It's still nice to find a sample matching your chip, and it's even nice if > this sample match your hardware. Rare... Not as rare as you suggest while a limited set of chips serves most of the projects, especially for people with limited experience with jallib. I see quite a few samples for one to three chips. See the analysis Kiste and I did. Delivering those for the 7 most relevant chips with board files, you'd probably cover 95% of the need. Point is that the multiplication principle of the sample generation added synergy to the effort spent on samples by different people. I see such a synergy with Rob's method in the sense that he is able to create each new sample for many chips. Anyway, the jallib generation method is becoming obsolete and at first I thought eliminating it could give some synergy to an other methode. Giving it a second (and third ;) thought, I doubt it will. I'll think about a method to detect outdated generated samples and will still be creating board and test files for my on purpose (that is, development & testing) and as a result some new samples might be created. A web page like you describe sound okay. Hard to predict if it will be used though... Joep -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jallib" group.
