ok, its working now, I mixed the bare bones test code with the 5x7 font lib and its working wonderful now.

There is anyone out there with one of this GLCD that want to give it a try?

The use the form factor of the classic hd44780 but are just one big dot matrix instead of bytes islands, they are "pin hungry", you need 13 pins (A,RW,3 enable, a full 8bit port) and need a low drain -2V source.

I will work now on try to make a real jallib lib, it's just a big test project now.

cheers

Well, FYI in this subject.

I have identified the two GLCD manufacturers: Data Image & xiamen ocular...

Well, thanks to Sally Kao at Data Image I've the datasheet now, after a
round of various emails in which she was very kind and helpful to
finding the correct one.

From Xiamen Ocular there isn't response yet...

This module is a custom pins version, but after that it's a SB1661 or
AX6120 compatible GLCD... (this two chipsets have similar arrangements
and a full compatible cmd sets.)

This is a full matrix of 160x32 dots, in a 6x8 character (small font) it
can be compared to a 26+ chars per line in 4 rows (26x4)

I have it now working writing random bytes per columns on the display...

I have to investigate the real arrange of the columns/pages because the
order on the screen is not correct now, but this is just a matter of
time and experimentation.

So this glcd lib is on his baby state now.

After I solve the columns/pages mess, I have to review in deep the
jallib glcd libs to see how to integrate this to the existing ones, or
if worth it mane a new one.

Just an update. Cheers.

Thanks !!!

Tomorrow I will download the docs and if the data is good I will start
to code a lib for this kind of displays...

Hello Pavel,

for the GDM16032D Google shows a search result for the display at

http://www.pacificdisplay.com/gdm/GDM-16032-05.pdf

which points to the data sheet of the LCD controller at

http://www.pacificdisplay.com/ics_app%20notes/avant/SBN1661G-SBN0080G.pdf

After a (tedious) magnifying glass inspection I confirm that the Type
2 (GDM16032D) is a big 160x32 pixels matrix...

I doubt that the PY163211 one will be a 163x211 matrix...

Any info about the protocol to talk with this kind of LCD is
appreciated, even an example code in any other language ...

Cheers
