I see both GoogleCode exporter and GitHub importer having problens with Branches of a SVN repository... Three of my projects without branches got transfered without problems. The fourth failed many times. The solution was to move it to Sourceforge in a SVN repository.
Now, Matt, can you set a SVN repository on your server?
