The library that sends and receives data in background using buffers and 
interrupts is called

serial_hw_int_cts

There are a lot of samples, even one called 16f877_serial_hw_int_cts.jal 
It should run on an 16f877A with very little changes. 
Only thing is, you can't use pins C4/C5 for TX/RX, you are bound to C6/C7 as 
the usart is internally hard-wired to these pins.

With very recent controllers like 18f46k42, you can internally patch the TX/RX 
lines to any pin of ports B or C, and there's a second uart that can be patched 
to any pin of port B or D.
