Though I launched it prior to commit and poked thru the NNTP server as an eyeball test, none of the mailets were invoked which meant that the latent feature in Cornerstone was not noticed. That featre was that the comps no longer extend Component. I think it was perfectly possible for me to update Phoenix without updating Cornerstone (they are after all seperate).
Fellow Avaloner Stephen McConnell noticed this and provided a manually patched version of Cornerstone in his private CVS. I could update Phoenix again, but we have an issue in that we have forked from the HEAD CVS in Apache CVS. To get back to compatability, we need to take the brave step of doing the Serviceable change completely. -> More on that in another thread.
