We've had other people mention this though, and it might be nice to have 2 variations of the JDBC repository... one that does store the blob (appropriate for the spooler and other needs), and one that stores some richer meta-data. I don't know if that's the best approach though as we'll need true searching for IMAP (and others), which will likely use some indexing system like Lucene. Lucene isn't DB based though, so I'm not sure how this will all come together. We have a lot to discuss as part of a v3 shake-up.
