I got nearly done with this fix to support both numbered and
non-numbering repository extensions, but hit a snag or two.
I think I may change my approach to offer backwards compatibility...
rather than try to have handle both numbered and non-numbered file
extensions, during initialization I'll have it un-number all the
extensions (doing a renaming/move to strip the number in the file
extension). The only problem is if there are would be any naming
conflicts, but that's already a case I'm having troubles with and would
be much nicer to have this handled during initialization.
So, it'll be easy to finish this off and just do a one-time transparent
conversion, and then know all the messages have the standard
non-numbered file extension. Won't take much more time, but it's
already after 2am and my brain has long since slowed to a crawl.
