> - need to link to the new release on the binindex.xml and srcindex.xml

I would do it if I had a daedalus account (yes, I sent the e-mail to root
again). For now, I think that we simply change the static references in
those two files to point to http://www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/james/.
AIUI, we need to wait a few days before we insert ourselves into the
mirroring section to give the mirrors time to propogate.

> - need to put an href on index.xml as an announcement

This should do the trick:

   <a href="http://jakarta.apache.org/james/announcement_2_1.html";>December
30, 2002 - <b>James 2.1 Released</b></a>

> - need to write a little news blurb on the news page about the 2.1
release.

Text (from James home page):

<b>December 30, 2002 - James 2.1 Released</b>

<p>This release has many enhancements and bug fixes over the previous
release. See the Change Log for a detailed list of changes. Some of the
earlier defects could turn a James mail server into an Open Relay. All users
of James 2.0a3 and earlier are urged to upgrade to James v2.1 as soon as
possible.</p>

Obviously, if there are appropriate XML tags use them instead. I haven't
looked at the XML source pages, yet.
