Until we see a/the better way working, I'm not in favor of scrapping
anything.  :-)  If/when Maven were to become the better way, we'd end up
"scrapping" the entirety of build.xml, as I understand it.

Apparently, one of the benefits of using Maven is that a minimum
installation is just Maven and our project file.  The user runs Maven, which
downloads and installs all of the requisite files from the repository,
including the necessary builds of third party jar files.

Other benefits include a whole set of canned project reports.  But I'd
rather let Dion and Jason promote Maven, and let Nicola promote Forrest.
:-)  That way we will all learn more about these non-exclusive options.
