http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16833 smtpserver.log often doesn't show "error" events ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-07 15:57 ------- You are spot on; I had misunderstood part of the relationship between the smtpserver and the spoolmanager. More importantly, I was failing to check the latter's logfile, which I now discover does in fact show both the exceptions and stacktraces in question. It still concerns me that smtpserver is performing SMTP transactions which aren't being logged by smtpserver at all, even if the cause is that a mailet's uncaught RuntimeExceptions are ripping through it, but I suspect that this puts us back at the need that you pointed out earlier for a review of exception handling in James :-) {{ N.B. I'll add closing comments like this to my own bug reports not to have the last word, but simply because if/when I do decide to do some serious work on James, it'll help me to have a list of things that I stumbled on with your and my comments all in one place. }} --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
