Looks really interesting. I'd love to find a way to mix the mailet API with this scripting. The "Sieve" syntax handles so much of the basic scripting that the API is a little heavy for, but I think you'd still want to jump into Java to do things like query a database/LDAP server/EJB, complex logic, or whatever. I sent an email to the author... perhaps he can get involved with the project, or at least we can share thoughts on how to bridge the gap.
