For ESMTP I'm looking for full conformancy with RFC 1869 and to at list
support the following commands within James:

SEND Send as mail [RFC 821std10(->
2821prop)]
SOML Send as mail or terminal [RFC 821std10(->
2821prop)]
SAML Send as mail and terminal [RFC 821std10(->
2821prop)]
EXPN Expand the mailing list [RFC 821std10(->
2821prop)]
HELP Supply helpful information [RFC 821std10(->
2821prop)]
TURN Turn the operation around [RFC 821std10(->
2821prop)]
8BITMIME Use 8-bit data [RFC 1652draft]
SIZE Message size declaration [RFC 1653(->
1870std10)]
VERB Verbose [Eric Allman]
ONEX One message transaction only [Eric Allman]

which I think you've got SIZE and EHLO commands. I'm also thinking scenarios
where delivery of mail message has failed using DSN "Delivery Status
Notifications" sent back to SMTP client for failed mail delivery, for
instance. Also whether ESMTP is able to support attachments of various other
file formats including audio, video, mp3s, other programs.

Also if ESMTP is able to provide with the ability to prescan incoming mail
prior to delivery within mail server's domain for security purposes. Also
any chance of retrofitting security protocols, although at an overhead cost,
to protect mail headers as well as mail body content from being changed
inadvertently from a third party whether it's an imposter or trusted.

Sam.

looking for from ESMTP?
